Windows 10 update error 0x8024401c

I have a problem with my brand new computer (immediately updated to Windows 10). First of all, I cannot get new updates (the last one’s from 6th Oct) as it says there’s the error 0x8024401c. Moreover, I can’t connect with any game server (like Origin) or enter some particular websites (even to sign up here I had to use a different computer!) and it’s impossible to attach files to emails. It should be also highlighted, that before 6th Oct the computer had no such problems.

I’ve already tried:

1. Running Troubleshooter (it says there’s ‘missing or corrupted register’), which allegedly fixed it (it did not)
2. http://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-update-stuck-downloading-updates
3. sfc /scannow

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

We would be glad to help you with the issue you are facing today. I understand the difficulty with the problem.

Before you try anything else, you should make sure that your PC is connected to the Internet. You can try using the Internet Connections troubleshooter that will automatically fix some common problems with going online.

Many connection errors are caused by temporary problems with the Internet. Wait a few minutes, and then try running Windows Update again.

Open the Network troubleshooter by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search.

  1. Press Windows + X key.
  2. Select Control panel.
  3. In the search box, type Troubleshooter and then click Troubleshooting.
  4. Under Network and Internet.
  5. Click on Network adaptor and Click on Next button.
