Windows 10 install error C1900101-30018

Q. Hi, I recently tried upgrading to windows 10 from windows 7 (64 bit), it downloaded it ok, but when it restarted and was on the install screen when it reached about 27% finished it came up with this error with something along the lines of “THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER” and would then reboot itself back to windows 7. Once it was rebooted it gave me this error code C1900101-30018. I have searched on the internet and have not found a solution. My specs are:

CPU: AMD A8 6600K

GPU: ASUS R7 260X

RAM: 8GB

Motherboard: MSI A78M-E35

HDD: 1TB A solution would be great, thank you.

EDIT:

I would like to provide an update to those who have had the same problem and those who gave solutions, firstly thank you all those who have suggestions on ways to fix this problem, however none of them worked for me. I did however fix this issue by removing my graphics card and deleting the drivers for it, then i did most of Andre’s suggestions, disabling my antivirus (Avast), removing all none necessary external devices (headphones and even my wireless card after the download was complete) etc..

So to all those who are having the same issue and have not tried installing windows 10 with your graphics card removed I would try this method.

Furthermore, I am so far enjoying windows 10 and hope that it does not come into any problems.
