Q. I see others have had an issue with gray X’s appearing on the left corner of some folders on the desktop but none seem to be with Windows 10 (newly upgraded. Files open okay but how to get rid of X’s?

Followed instructions on the link for snipping .  Also tried to ling an example of the folders with X in lower left corner and to save image as a word document.  No image formats would upload

Created a new folder on the desktop –  initializes with a gray x then turned into arrow.
