Q. By mistake I set a program as the default program for two file types. I do not wish to have that program set as the default. Also, I do not need or want any program as the default for these file types. How do I remove a default program from a file type without setting another program as the default?

Kindly follow the below steps and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows + I keys on the keyboard to open the settings menu.
2. Click on System.
3. Select Default apps on the left navigation pane of the system settings menu.
4. Click on Choose default apps by file type from the right-hand side of the Default apps settings menu.
5. Here you may set the default apps for the file types as you wish.

Note: You may also click on Choose default apps by protocol from the Default apps settings menu if you wish to set the default apps by protocol.
